In the Tver region, the court sentenced the Russian citizen to 9 years in prison for the crimes committed in the territory of the Republic of Belarus

The Vyshnevolotsky District Court of the Tver Region found the Russian citizen guilty of two crimes specified in Article 228.1 (3 “b”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or analogues thereof, as well as illegal sale or transmission of plants containing narcotics or psychotropic substances, or parts thereof containing narcotics or psychotropic substances).

The court established that she, while in the city of Vitebsk of the Republic of Belarus, sold 0.85 gm of heroin, for which she received 300 thousand Belarusian rubles. She made a similar deal in the city of Mogilev of the Republic of Belarus, having received 2 million Belarusian rubles for 0.801 gm of the narcotic drug methadone.

After committing the crime, the perpetrator hid from law enforcement agencies in the territory of the Russian Federation. Her actions were qualified under Article 328 (3) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (illegal storage and sale of narcotic drugs).

In July 2019, this criminal matter was transmitted to Russia in accordance with the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters of January 22, 1993. It was received by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation with a request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus to carry out criminal prosecution. The criminal matter was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of the Tver region at the location of the accused.

The court sentenced her to 9 years in prison in a general regime correctional colony.
