Yuri Guyva was extradited from Poland to Russia for criminal prosecution under Article 105 (2 “g”, “h”) (murder, that is, intentionally causing death to another person, committed by a group of persons, by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or by an organized group for mercenary motives or by hire, as well as involving robbery, extortion or banditry), Article 162 (4 “a”, “c) (robbery committed by an organized group with the infliction of major damage to the victim's health), Article 222 (3) of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, main parts thereof and ammunition, by an organized group).
The criminal case against Guiva is dealt with by the General Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Guiva is accused of the fact that on 27 March 2017, in Moscow, acting as part of an organized group, he committed robbery and murder of N. Volkov, General Director of FGUP “Repair and Construction Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation”. Thereafter, Guiva fled the scene having stolen the property of the victim.
A Resolution was issued against Guiva on his arraignment as an accused, he was placed on the wanted list and a preventive measure in the form of detention was ordered for him.
Further to the information of the NCB Poland on the apprehension of Guiva on 23 July 2018 in the territory of Polan , a request for his extradition was sent to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland on 17 August 2018 by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and close cooperation with the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland, it was possible to reach a decision on the extradition of Guiva to the Russian Federation.
