Today on 12 February 2016 the competent authorities of the Republic of Montenegro at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation are extraditing Russian citizen Mr. Sergey Yavischev to Russia.
The investigative authorities accuse him of a crime in accordance with item “a” of part 3 of article 163 (Extortion committed by the organised group) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The criminal case in respect of Mr. Yavischev is investigated by the Investigative Section of Investigative Department of the the Zabaykalye Territory Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The investigation revealed that in May 2011 in the city of Chita of the Zabaykalye Territory Mr. Yavischev, acting as a member of the organized group, illegally demanded money in the amount of 450 thousand rubles from the victim threatening him with applying of physical violence.
Considering that Mr. Yavischev fled from the criminal prosecution, he was put on the federal wanted list in May 2015 and on the international wanted list in September 2015.
In September 2015 Mr. Yavischev was detained on the territory of Montenegro.
In October 2015 the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent to the competent authorities of the Republic of Montenegro request to extradite Mr. Yavischev to Russia, which was granted in January 2016.
Mr. Sergey Yavischev is going to be transferred to Moscow accompanied by the special escort.

About extradition from Montenegro to Russia of the Russian citizen Sergey Yavischev charged with extortion
