On the margins of the 7th Regional Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka met with the Prosecutor of the Kingdom of Bahrain Ali bin Fadel Al-Buainain.
Welcoming the guests, Mr. Chayka noted the importance of strengthening and further development of mutual cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Offices of both states.
The Prosecutor of the Kingdom of Bahrain Mr. Ali bin Fadel Al-Buainain thanked Mr. Chayka for organizing the conference, which topic is so relevant to the world community up to date.
He also noted that the interaction of Prosecutor’s Offices of both states has recently been of a fruitful nature, and the relationship between the supervisory departments has only become more strengthened.
During the meeting, the heads of supervisory departments signed the Program of Cooperation between the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Kingdom of Bahrain for 2016 – 2017, which will contribute to the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding between the agencies of both states, which was signed on April 6, 2015.
A number of important joint activities are expected to be implemented under the signed program.
Thus, during the whole prescribed period, there will be an exchange of departmental and scientific publications, as well as methodical materials on the basic directions of activities of bodies and organizations of Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Bahrain, including the materials of judicial practice.
In March 2016 Moscow will host a joint round table on the topic "Role and Competence of Prosecutors in the Legal System of the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Prosecutorial Powers in Criminal Proceedings".
In October the same year, representatives of the Russian supervisory department will visit Manama, where they will take part in workshops on issues of cooperation in the field of extradition of persons for criminal prosecution or execution of sentence and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
In March 2017 Moscow will host the final stage of the signed program – the working meeting for exchange of experience in the field of combating radicalization and violent extremism, and the spread of prohibited information on the Internet. In October 2017 Manama will host a round table on the topic "Legal Education as a Tool for Prevention of Crimes and Offences. Prosecutorial Powers outside the Criminal Law Field".
