Today, May 22, 2015, upon the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany will extradite the citizen of the Russian Federation, Grigory Adriasov, to Russia.
He is accused by the investigative authorities of committing criminal offences stipulated by Article 228.1 (2 “a”, “b”) (illegal sale of a narcotic substance, on a large scale; by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy); Article 30 (3), Article 228.1 ( 2 “a”, “b”) (attempted illegal sale of a narcotic substance, on a large scale, by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Admiralteysky District of St Petersburg is inquiring into the criminal case against Mr Adriasov.
The investigation revealed that in October 2011, Adriasov and his accomplices purchased about 24 grams of heroin in St Petersburg and sold 4 grams. When attempting to sell a further 7 grams he was detained by law enforcement officers.
As Adriasov absconded from criminal prosecution, he was placed on the federal wanted list in March 2012, and on the international wanted list in April 2014.
In December 2014, after his location was established in Germany, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation submitted a request for his extradition to the competent authorities of Germany. In March 2015 the extradition request was allowed.
Grigory Adriasov will be extradited from Frankfurt-am-Main to Moscow under special escort.
