Today, April 17, 2015, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain will extradite Russian citizen Viskhan Dzhabaev to the Russian Federation.
He is accused by the investigative authorities of committing criminal offences stipulated Part 3 Article 158 (Theft committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy, with the infliction of considerable damage on a person) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The criminal proceedings against Dzhabaev are being conducted by the Investigative Unit of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Udmurt Republic.
The investigation disclosed that in September 2008, Dzhabaev, in conspiracy with other individuals, stole a boat and other property worth approximately 500,000 roubles at a leisure resort in the town of Kamskoe in the Votkinsky District of the Udmurt Republic.
Besides, in February-April 2009, Dzhabaev and his accomplices stole property to the ttotal amount of more than 1 million roubles in the Udmurt Republic.
As Dzhabaev absconded from criminal prosecution, in April 2010 he was put on federal wanted list, and in May 2010 he was put on international wanted list.
In August 2014, after his location was established in Spain, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation submitted an extradition request to the competent authorities of Spain, and the request was approved in March 2015.
Viskhan Dzhabaev will be transferred from Madrid to Moscow under a special escort.

Extradition of Russian citizen Viskhan Dzhabaev, accused of theft to the value of approximately 1.7 million roubles, from Spain to Russia
