Today, on 27th of March, 2015 upon request of the Russian Federation Prosecutor’s General Office the competent authorities of the Republic of Finland will extradite Russian Citizen Roman Hyamyalyainen to Russia.
The investigation authorities charge him with an attempted offence under Article 30 (3), Article 228.1 (3 “d”) (attempted illegal drug trafficking committed by group of persons by previous concert on an specially large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The criminal case against Hyamyalyainen is handled by investigative division of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the North-Western Federal District.
The investigation established that in September of 2008 Hyamyalyainen with accomplices attempted to distribute in the territory of Leningrad Region the drug, i.e. amphetamine, of about 1 kg.
Since Hyamyalyainen fled from criminal prosecution, in July, 2011 he was put on a Federal Wanted List, and in March, 2012 – on an International Wanted List.
Once he was found to be in the territory of Finland, in July, 2013 Prosecutor’s General Office of the Russian Federation sent to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Finland a request for extradition which was granted in March, 2015.
Today, Roman Hyamyalyainen accompanied by the officers of the Russian Federal Service for Execution of Punishment and the Russian Bureau of Interpol will be extradited to Russia.
