Today on 26th of March, 2015 upon request of Russian Federation Prosecutor’s General Office competent authorities of the Republic of Poland will extradite to Russia Russian citizen, Mikhail Saprinsky for execution of sentence of the Kaluga District Court of Kaluga Region.
The Court found Shaprinskiy guilty in robbery back in 2000 in Kaluga of two citizens stealing US Dollars 300 as well as in commitment of 10 thefts causing damage amounting to 355 thousands Rubles in total.
After commitment of crimes Shaprinsky violated pre-trial restrictions in form of written undertaking not to leave the place and fled for which cause in October, 2001 the Court changed the pre-trial restrictions to placement in custody and put him on the wanted list.
In March, 2007 Kaluga District Court of Kaluga Region sentenced in absentia Sharpinskiy under subparagraphs ‘b, c’ Part 2 of Article 162 (home-invasion robbery with use of weapons), subparagraphs ‘a, b, c’ Part 2 of Article 158 (theft committed in collusion with group of people with invasion and causing a significant damage to person) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 8 years of imprisonment.
In December, 2014 due to identifying the location of Shaprinskiy and his detainment at the territory of the Republic of Poland, Russian Federation Prosecutor’s General Office sent a request to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland of his extradition which was satisfied in February, 2015.
Today being accompanied by the officers of the Federal Service for Execution of Punishment and Russian Interpol Bureau Mikhail Shaprinskiy will be extradited to Russia.
