The Court of Appeals of Rome decided to arrest three apartments and two garages worth more than EUR 1 million located in Rome and its surroundings.

Thus, the court granted the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation directed within the criminal case investigation of the Russian law enforcement authorities.

Despite the fact that the formal owner of this property is Zotov’s wife, the court took into account the arguments of the Russian party that the property had been acquired on behalf and in the interests of Igor Zotov.

The decision was possible owing to the close and well-established cooperation between the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and the competent authorities of the Republic of Italy on return of proceeds from crime to Russia.

Igor Zotov is accused of committing crimes under Art. 160 Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (embezzlement, i.e. theft of another's property, entrusted to the offender, committed using his official position in especially big amount). Currently, the criminal case against Zotov is considered in the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow.
