- The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation
On June 17, 2014, the Court of Marseilles has issued a ruling, ordering the seizure of mansion situated in Antibes (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region), thus granting the request of the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation subject to the criminal proceedings, conducted by Russian law enforcement agencies.
Despite the fact that a French legal entity is the formal owner of this property, the Court took into account the arguments brought forward by the Russian party, stating that the property was purchased upon instructions and on behalf of Boris Berezovsky.
The decision of the Court was made due to strong and close cooperation between the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and the competent authorities of the Republic of France on matters of securing and returning the assets, obtained by criminal means to Russia.
