A seminar on "The activities of prosecution authorities of the Russian Federation and Hungary on protection of the rights of children and adolescents" was held in the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation. This event was held within the framework of implementation of the cooperation program between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General's Office of Hungary.
From the Russian side the meeting was headed by Head of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms observance Supervision Division of the Directorate for Monitoring the Compliance with the Federal Laws Larisa Kopteva. Participants of this meeting were staff of the stated directorate, those of Directorate for Ensuring Participation of Prosecutors in Civil and Arbitration Process, representative of the Academy of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Grishin.
The Hungarian part was represented by Prosecutor of Department for Protection of Children and Adolescents Zsolt Nemeth, Prosecutor of Department for Supervision of Execution of Punishment and Protection of Human Rights Noemi Bori, the Prosecutor of Administration for Protection of State Interests Ratz Totne.
During the seminar the parties have discussed issues relating to the powers, functions and tasks of prosecution authorities of both countries, participation in legislative activity, overseeing in the field of protection of rights and lawful interests of children, including children living under conditions of family dysfunction. Issues of civil-law mechanisms for protection of rights and lawful interests of orphaned children and children deprived of parental care were touched on.
Mutual interest was raised by questions of the prevention of child neglect and juvenile delinquency, information security of children, protection of housing rights of orphaned children and children deprived of parental care.
The parties mentioned that the results of the meeting would improve the practice of prosecutorial oversight of both countries in the best interests of the younger generation.
