Today, on April 17, 2014, a round table on "Activities of prosecutor's offices of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Croatia outside the criminal law sphere" took place at the Prosecutor General's Office. This event took place for the purposes of implementing the Program of Cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the State Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Croatia for 2013-2014, which had been signed by them in September 2012 in Zagreb (the Republic of Croatia).
Delegation of the Republic of Croatia was headed by first deputy Attorney General Dragan Novosel. From the Russian side the meeting was attended by representatives of Directorate for Monitoring the Compliance with the Federal Laws, Directorate for Ensuring Participation of Prosecutors in Civil and Arbitration Process and Directorate for International Legal Cooperation.
Mutual interest of the participants was raised by questions of protection of rights and freedoms of citizens, monitoring of compliance with the law in the environmental field, protection of entrepreneurs' rights. Also the parties exchanged information on forms and methods of prosecutors' participation in solving civil cases by the court and oversight of criminal investigations.
