Today, on April 14, 2014, First Deputy Prosecutor General Aleksandr Buksman met with the delegation of Government Inspectorate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
Participants in the meeting were senior officials of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and those of Government Inspectorate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The delegation came to Moscow to exchange experience in the sphere of anticorruption.
Welcoming the guest, Aleksandr Buksman stated that interaction with the Republic of Vietnam is close. In 2007 the Cooperation Agreement between prosecutor's offices of Russia and Vietnam was signed. For the last several years meetings with the Procurator-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, heads of the Committee on Judicial Affairs of the National Assembly, Committee of Law Reform of Communist Party of Vietnam, Committee on Anti-Corruption of the Government have been held, and meetings with colleagues from the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam have been held twice.
Talking of the key theme of the meeting, the First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation noted that modern anti-corruption legislation consistent with the international standards has been developed in the Russian Federation, therewith he emphasized that assessment of regulatory legal acts and their drafts is performed on such a large scale only in Russia.
Thus, the duty to comply with the corresponding restrictions and prohibitions, to present information about you and your relatives' incomes, expenses, property and property liabilities applies to a wide range of officials - from state and municipal servants to employees of various state companies, state and municipal institutions.
Aleksandr Buksman reported that over the last years the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation have been carrying out extensive work on international legal cooperation to combat corruption. Thus, the Program of Cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for 2014-1015 envisages holding of a round table in March 2015 on issues of prosecutorial oversight over compliance with the anti-corruption legislation, which will lead to a greater efficiency, improve cooperation on the most topical issues.
In his turn, minister, head of Government Inspectorate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Huỳnh Fong Chan thanked the host country for the opportunity to discuss issues of cooperation in the stated sphere and also he told about organization of work at this direction in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Finally, the parties expressed confidence that this meeting would promote development of good neighbourly relations and strengthening bilateral cooperation, including that in the sphere of combating corruption.
