Today, on April 11, 2014, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika visited the Republic of Crimea during his working trip.
During his working visit Yury Chaika met with the newly appointed prosecutors of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, who go through the employment procedure.
The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika presented the first service certificates to prosecutors of the Russian Federation, including acting prosecutors of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol Natalia Poklonskaya and Igor Shevchenko.
Yury Chaika familiarized himself with the work on formation of district, regional and republican prosecutor’s offices on the peninsula, training of staff and passing tests in knowledge of the Russian legislation. Thus far about 90% of prosecutors, federal state civilian employees and technical workers at the Republic of Crimea and 80% at Sevastopol reported the desire to work in Prosecutor's Office of Russia. In total 1,140 employees will work at these prosecutor's offices on a full-time basis.
The Academy of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has developed plan-program for training candidates for their admission to the procuratorial bodies of the Russian Federation, methodological recommendations on certain directions of activities of procuratorial bodies. Prosecutor's offices of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol are provided with legal framework of the Russian Federation, scientific and methodical literature on issues of organization of oversight and other activities of procuratorial bodies.
In addition to staff and organizational issues, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika familiarized himself with the work on inspection of criminal cases for the purpose of aligning the qualification of the performed acts with Russian legislation, as well as the oversight over the lawfulness of detention of arrested and convicted persons.
Also there took place meetings of Yury Chaika with heads of the supreme authorities of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, which were provided for by the program of the visit.
