On extradition of Polish citizen Karol Yaroshchik, who is accused of RTA, to Russia from Hungary

Today, January 17, 2014, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation the competent authorities of the Hungary are extraditing Polish citizen Karol Yaroshchik to Russia. Investigative agencies accuse him of committing the crime, referred to in article 264, paragraph 3 (violation of the rules for traffic safety by a person driving a car, which has involved by negligence the death of a person) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. 

The criminal case against Yaroshchik is pending by the Investigation Department of Syzranskoe intermunicipal Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Samara Oblast. 

The investigation found that in November 2011 at about 16:40 on 913 km of highway M5 "Ural" Yaroshchik, who had been driving a car Volvo FN 440 with a semitrailer, had lost control and drove into oncoming lane, it had bumped into the car VAZ-21083, which had been driving on the oncoming lane, as the result minor passenger of VAZ-21083, born on 29.11.2010, had died at the scene of the accident due to sustained bodily injuries. 

As Yaroshchik had fled from law enforcement agencies, in April 2012 he was put on a federal wanted list, and in March 2013 a decree on putting him on an international wanted list was issued. 

According to Interpol National Central Bureau in Hungary in December 2013 the stated person was detained in the territory of Hungary. 

Considering the fact, that the accused had agreed to the simplified extradition procedure, in November 2013 the Ministry of Justice of Hungary informed the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation about readiness to extradite Yaroshchik to the Russian Federation for criminal prosecution. 

According to European Convention on Extradition 1957, in December 2013 the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for extradition of Yaroshchik to the competent authorities of Hungary, which was satisfied. 

Today Karol Yaroshchik, escorted by officials of Federal Penitentiary Service and those of Interpol Bureau of Russia, will be extradited to Russia.
