On extradition of Russian citizen Vladislav Baumgertner to Russia from Belarus

On November 20, 2013, at the request of the Prosecutor General' Office of the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus took decision on extradition of Russian citizen Vladislav Baumgertner to Russia. 

The criminal case against Baumgertner is pending by the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. 

He is accused of committing crimes, referred to in article 33, paragraph 3, article 201, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and namely he is accused that being a person discharging managerial functions in a profit-making organization, he used authority in defiance of the lawful interests of this organization and for the purpose of deriving benefits and advantages for himself or for other persons, and this deed caused serious consequences. 

In October this year Basmanny District Court of Moscow in absentia selected a preventive punishment for Baumgertner in the form of taking him into custody.

On October 22, 2013 during bilateral consultations with a representative of the Prosecutor General' Office of the Republic of Belarus the request of the Prosecutor General' Office of the Russian Federation on his extradition for criminal prosecution was passed. 

In the near future Baumgertner will be handed over to Russian law enforcement agencies.
