Today, on the 15th November 2012, the Russian Federation received from the Ukraine a criminal case corresponding Ilya Piyanzin who is involved in the preparation of assassination of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The transfer of Piyanzin to the Russian Federation in August of this year became possible in the result of negotiations at the top level of management of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the General Prosecutor's office of the Ukraine.

By the Russian law-and-order bodies Piyanzin is accused of committing crimes foreseen by part 2 of article 209 (participation in a stable armed group (band)), part 3 of article 222 (illegal storage, transportation and carrying of explosive substances and explosive devices committed by an organized group), part 3 of article 223 (illegal manufacturing of explosive substances and explosive devices committed by an organized group), part 1 of article 30 and article 277 (preparation for the encroachment on the life of a statesman in order to stop his/her state or other political activity or out of revenge for such activity) of the criminal code of the Russian Federation.

The criminal case against Piyanzin is in the execution stage of Investigation department of FSS (Federal Security Service) of Russia.

It is reminded that in February of 2012 Piyanzin was detained with another accomplice of the crime Adam Osmaev on the territory of the Ukraine. By the Security Service of the Ukraine he was charged with committing crimes foreseen by part 1 of article 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization), part 1 of article 14 and part 2 of article 258 (preparation for commitment of a terrorist act), part 1 of article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosive substances), article 196 (careless damage or destruction of property) of the Criminal code of the Ukraine. By the investigative bodies of the Ukraine it was also determined that Piyanzin and Osmaev were preparing the assassination attempt against the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

In March 2012 the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation forwarded to the competent authorities of the Ukraine a request for extradition of Piyanzin for bringing to criminal liability.

For discussion of the issues of bilateral cooperation in the framework of investigation of the above mentioned criminal cases, in Kiev it was held a number of meetings of representatives of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the competent bodies of the Ukraine in the course of which there were reached agreements on extradition of Piyanzin and Osmaev with the presence of legal grounds for that and for transferring of the Ukrainian criminal case to Russia for continuation of the investigation.

Today the criminal case against Piyanzin is delivered to the Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and will be forwarded for organization of a further preliminary investigation to the Investigative Department of the FSS of Russia.
