About the extradition from Germany to Russia of a citizen of the Russian Federation Habib Umakhanov accused of murder of a head of one of the districts of the Republic of Dagestan

Today, on November 13th, 2012, at the request of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany are extraditing a citizen of the Russian Federation Habib Umakhanov. By the investigation authorities he is accused of committing crimes foreseen by the paragraph «g» in part 2 of article 105 (murder, that is intentional causing of death to another person committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy), part 3 of article 30 - paragraphs «a», «g» of article 105 (attempted murder, that is intentional causing of death to another person, two persons committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy) of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation.

The criminal case against Umakhanov is in the execution stage of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, in September 2009 in Moscow Umakhanov with his accomplices committed murder of the Head of the municipal foundation «Khasavyurt district» of the Republic of Dagestan Alimsultan Alkhamatov and caused serious injuries to his security guard.

Due to the fact that Umakhanov disappeared from the bodies of preliminary investigation, in March 2010 he was announced in the Federal search, and in May 2010 he was placed into the international wanted list.

In June 2012 Umakhanov was detained on the territory of Germany.

In July 2012 the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation forwarded to the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany the request for extradition of Umakhanov which was satisfied in November of this year.

Today, accompanied by the employees of the FSIN (Federal Service of Execution of Punishment) of Russia and the Russian Bureau of Interpol, Habib Umakhanov is extradited to Russia.
