The competent authorities of Canada deported to Russia a citizen of the Russian Federation Mikhail Gordeev. By the Russian law enforcement organs he is accused of committing crimes foreseen by part 1 of article 209 (banditry), paragraphs «z, k» in part 2 of article 105 (murder), part 3 of article 30, paragraphs «a, z, k» in part 2 of article 105 (attempt to murder), two crimes foreseen by paragraphs «a, b, v») in part 3 of article 162 (robbery), two crimes foreseen by part 3 of article 222 (illegal purchase, transfer, storage and bearing of firearms committed by an organized group) of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation.
The criminal case against Gordeev is in the execution stage of the Investigative Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation for Leningrad region.
As a result of the investigation it was established that Gordeyev and two other persons in the autumn of 1997 on the territory of the Leningrad region created and headed an organized armed criminal group. From November to December of 1997 they had committed two armed attacks on the passengers of the buses of long distance routes with the purpose of theft of monetary funds, jewelry and other properties.
The resolution of bringing as an accused relatively Mikhail Gordeev was pronounced in absentia in September 1998, in the final reduction it was announced in August 2011. He was placed into the international wanted list in August 2012.
As a result of interaction of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation with the competent authorities of Canada on October 23, 2012 Mikhail Gordeev was deported from the territory of Canada to Russia.
