About the extradition from Spain to Russia of a citizen of the Russian Federation Sergey Guzyuk accused of murder

Today, on April 19, 2012 at the request of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain are extraditing to Russia a citizen of the Russian Federation Sergey Guzyuk. He is accused of committing a crime foreseen by part 1 of article 105 (murder, i.e. intentional infliction of death to another person) of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation.

 

The criminal case is in the execution stage of the investigation department of the investigative board of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Moscow region.

 

By the investigation authorities Guzyuk is charged with the fact that in the night of December 4, 2008 in the area of the 29th kilometer of the highway "Moscow-Don" on the grounds of jealousy by making several shots in the head from a traumatic gun he committed the murder of his girlfriend.

 

Since Guzyuk disappeared from the criminal prosecution, in June 2009 he was placed into the international wanted list.

 

In August 2011 Guzyuk was detained on the territory of Spain. At the same time the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation forwarded to the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain a request for his extradition. In April of this year the request was satisfied.

 

Today, accompanied by the employees of the FSIN (Federal Service of Execution of Punishment) of Russia and the Russian Bureau of Interpol, Sergey Guzyuk is extradited to Russia.
