It is signed a Program for cooperation between the General Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Sweden

Deputy General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Alexander Zvyagintsev in the course of a working visit to the city of Stockholm, the Kingdom of Sweden, met with the General Prosecutor of the Kingdom of Sweden Anders Perklev.

In the course of the meeting with the aim of realization of the Agreement for cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the General Prosecutor’s office of the Kingdom of Sweden, dated March 9th, 2010 Alexander Zvyagintsev and Anders Perklev signed a Program of cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the General Prosecutor’s office of the Kingdom of Sweden for the years of 2012 - 2013.

The program provides for the holding of joint events, including round tables and seminars on the widest range of issues.

So, in April of 2012 in the city of Moscow it will be held the "round table" on the topic of introduction with the structure, functions and organization of work of the bodies and institutions ingressed into the system of Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Sweden. Also in November of this year in the city of Stockholm it is planned to carry out a workshop on the issues of extradition, including persons accused of crimes of a terrorist nature, as well as legal assistance in criminal cases, including the tracking of financial transactions and the return from abroad of the assets and properties obtained via criminal methods.

In April 2013 in the city of Moscow it is planned to carry out the workshop on the issues of fighting against the illegal traffic of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and their precursors, as well as fighting against trafficking of human beings, and in November in the city of Stockholm it is planned to hold a meeting of representatives of the Prosecutor's offices of two countries in order to summarize the results of the implementation of the signed Program and discussion of the further perspectives of cooperation.

In addition, it is foreseen by the Program the exchange of departmental and scientific publications, methodological materials on the basic directions of activity, including the materials of court practice.

Alexander Zvyagintsev noted that one of the priority directions of partnership between the two countries is the interaction between the law-and-order bodies in ensuring the protection of the rights of citizens and the fight against criminality, both in the bilateral format as well as within the bounds of international organizations such as the UN, the Council of Europe, Council of Baltic sea States. He also highly appreciated the active work on the development of interdepartmental cooperation of the Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Sweden.

The participants of the meeting stated that the communication, including the forthcoming meeting of general prosecutors of the States of the Baltic sea region, will be fruitful and mutually beneficial, and the close interdepartmental cooperation, undoubtedly increase the efficiency of work in the field of protection of citizens ' rights and in the fight against criminality.
