About the extradition from Spain to Russia of a citizen of the Russian Federation Victor Ivanov blamed in fraud and embezzlement

Today, upon the request of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain are extraditing to Russia a citizen of the Russian Federation Victor Ivanov. By the investigation bodies he is charged with committing crimes foreseen by item 4 of article 160 (embezzlement, i.e. theft of other's property entrusted to the perpetrator, in especially large scale), five crimes foreseen by part 3 of article 159 (fraud, committed by a person using his official position, in large scale) and five crimes foreseen by part 4 of article 159 (fraud, committed by a person using his official position, in especially large scale) of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation.

Criminal case is in the execution stage of investigatory department of investigatory division of the Vologda linear Department of Internal Affairs on transport.

It is determined that Viktor Ivanov, as a general director of Open JSC "Cherepovetsky port" and possessing a large package of shares of the enterprise which is the founder of OJSC "Belozersky rechnoy port" and using his official position, has carried out a number of deals in purchase and sale of diesel fuel and misappropriating some part of the money. Ivanov knew about the financial difficulties of OJSC "Belozersky rechnoy port" and the impossibility of opening of navigation in 2009. As a result of actions made by Ivanov, LLC "Volga Nafta Oil-NN" fuel selling company was caused material damage in the amount of more than 11.3 million rubles.

Moreover, in the period from 2007 to 2009 Viktor Ivanov had concluded a number of fictitious transactions for supply of fuel and lubricating materials, sand, crushed stone, as well as for the provision of legal services for OJSC "Cherepovetsky port" which were not actually performed and stealing via fraud money in the total amount of about 12 million rubles foreseen for the payment.

In August 2009 Viktor Ivanov was declared in the Federal search and in September 2009 he was placed into the international wanted list.

In September 2010 he was arrested by the Spanish law-and-order bodies.

In October, 2010 by the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation it was sent a request to the competent authorities of Spain for extradition of Viktor Ivanov to Russia for bringing to criminal responsibility which was satisfied in November 2011.

Today, accompanied by the employees of the Russian Bureau of Interpol, Victor Ivanov is extradited to Russia.
