In the Prosecutor's office of Pskov region it was held a press-conference on the results of the work of the international practical Conference on the issues of struggling against illegal drug trafficking.
The press-conference was attended by the representatives of regional, city and district mass media, the head of the Main Department of international legal cooperation of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation Sahak Karapetyan, the head of the Main Department for supervision upon investigations of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation Andrey Nekrasov, the advisor of the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Tatyana Vasilyeva, the Prosecutor of Pskov region Timur Kebekov, the heads of delegations of the competent law-and-order bodies of the Republic of Belarus, the Kingdoms of the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Czech, Latvian and Estonian republics as well as an international body the United Nations Department on drugs and crime control.
Mass media representatives asked the participants questions about estimation of the level of cooperation of law-and-order bodies of the countries-participants of the Conference on counteraction to drug trafficking and measures for its improvement; about practical usefulness of the Conference; about the main difficulties in the struggle against the international drug trafficking and the ways of their solution; about the positive aspects of implementation into the Russian legal proceedings the opportunities of video conference communication; about understanding of the scheduled introduction in Russia of mandatory testing at schools and universities and other institutions for drug dependence.
At the end of the event the head of the Russian delegation Sahak Karapetyan thanked the participants of the press-conference for fruitful work.
Just to remind, in the city of Pskov on the basis of the Prosecutor's office of Pskov region a two-day international Conference has completed its work, it was organized by the General Prosecutor’s office of the Russian Federation and was devoted to struggling against the illegal drug trafficking as well as the effectiveness of international cooperation in this sphere. The participants of the Conference exchanged their experiences in struggling against drug criminality, reviewed the national legislation and discussed the measures contributing to more effective implementation of the international agreements.
