About the extradition to Russia from Hungary of a citizen of the Russian Federation Yury Pashentsev accused of a double murder
Text

Today, upon the request of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation the competent authorities of the Republic of Hungary are extraditing to Russia a citizen of the Russian Federation Yury Pashentsev. By the investigation authorities he is accused of committing crimes foreseen by paragraph "h" of article 102 (premeditated murder of two persons with aggravating circumstances) of the criminal code of the RSFSR.

The criminal case on accusation of Pashentsev is in the execution stage of the investigatory directorate of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow.

It is established that in August 1992 Pashentsev with other accomplices arranged for murder of two persons who worked in the IPE "Saint George" with the purpose of eliminating the interference of the latter into the activities of the firm. Enticing their victims to a country cottage, the criminals committed their murder.

In connection with the fact that Pashentsev disappeared from the criminal prosecution, in January 1995 he was declared in the Federal search and then he was placed into the international wanted list.

In January 1999 Pashentsev was discovered on the territory of Hungary.

In February 1999 the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation forwarded to the Ministry of justice of the Republic of Hungary a petition about his extradition for bringing to the criminal responsibility.

In April 2005 by the competent authorities of the Republic of Hungary it was adopted a positive decision on the matter of extradition of Pashentsev but it was delayed because of the fact that in 2004 Pashentsev was detained by the law-and-order agencies of Hungary and was convicted for extortion and kidnapping. The term of serving of the sentence expired in April of this year.

Today, accompanied by the employees of the FSIN (Federal Service of Execution of Punishment) of Russia and the Russian Bureau of Interpol, Pashentsev is extradited to Russia.
