Today, upon the request of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Swiss Confederation are extraditing to Russia a Russian citizen Valery Sklyarov.
By the investigation authorities he is accused of committing crimes foreseen by part 2 of article 210 (participation in a criminal community) and 22 crimes foreseen by part 4 of article 159 (fraud, i.e. misappropriation of other people's property by fraud, committed by an organized group in a large and especially large scale) of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation.
The criminal case against Sklyarov is in the execution stage of the Investigative Board of the Department of Internal Affairs in Pskov region.
It is established that in the period of the years 2005 through 2008 Sklyarov being an active participant of a criminal community committed by means of deception misappropriations of monetary funds belonging to the OJSC JSCB "ROSBANK" and OJSC JSCB "Savings Bank of the Russian Federation", OJSC CB "Vostochny", LLC CB "Renaissance Capital", JSCB CJSC "Russian Standard" for the total amount of more than 28 million rubles.
In connection with the fact that Sklyarov disappeared from the bodies of preliminary investigation, in January 2010 he was declared in the Federal search and in March 2010 he was placed into the international wanted list.
In February 2011 Sklyarov was arrested on the territory of the Swiss Confederation.
In connection with his arrest in March 2011 the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation sent a request to the Federal Department of justice and police of the Swiss Confederation about his extradition for bringing to criminal responsibility for crimes committed on the territory of Russia.
Today, accompanied by the employees of the Russian Bureau of Interpol and the FSIN (Federal Service of Execution of Punishment) of Russia, Sklyarov is extradited to Russia.
