Today, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Republic of Ecuador are extraditing to Russia Denis Vasiliev, a citizen of the Russian Federation.
It was ascertained that in September 2003, in the Kalinindgrad region Denis Vasiliev aided and abetted to one of the citizens of the region to commit murder of a local entrepreneur — the owner of an amber shop in the city of Svetlogorsk and also in an attempted murder of his relative.
In 2006 the federal search for Vasiliev was announced, and in January 2007, he was placed on the international wanted list.
September 2009 Vasiliev was detained in the Republic of Ecuador, and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation forwarded a request on extradition of Mr. Vasiliev which was granted in December 2009

Extradition of Mr Denis Vasiliev, a citizen of the Russian Federation, who is accused of being an accomplice in murder and attempted murder, to Russia from Ecuador
