Today, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria are extraditing to Russia Nikolay Kerasov, a citizen of the Russian Federation. The investigation bodies are accuse him of the crime, envisaged 105 (1) (murder) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Due to the fact that Nikolay Kerasov had absconded from the bodies of preliminary investigation, in August 2007 his international search was announced, and in November 2009 Kerasov was detained in the Republic of Bulgaria.
At the same time the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation forwarded a request to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria for the extradition of Kerasov with a view to bring him to criminal liability, and this request was allowed in December 2009.
