In compliance with the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation of 30.01.2007, on 26.09.2008 the competent authorities of France extradited Russian citizen Ivanov Mariyan to the Russian Federation in order to institute criminal proceedings against him for the commission of robbery.
The investigation ascertained that in February 1999 Ivanov and other persons had committed robbery in a preliminary conspiracy with the use of weapons in respect of a commercial establishment in Yaroslavl.
By the judgment of the Dzerzhinsky District Court of Yaroslavl of 06.03.2009 Ivanov was found guilty of the commission of a crime, envisaged by Article 162 part 3 (robbery with an illegal entry into a home, premises, or any other storehouse or on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; he was inflicted punishment of deprivation of liberty for 7 years without fine with the service of sentence in a correctional colony of strict regime.
By the decision of the Regional Court of Yaroslavl of 09.06.2009 the judgment of the Dzerzhinsky District Court of Yaroslavl in respect of Ivanov was left unchanged and entered into legitimate force.
Due to the close cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, National Central Bureau Interpol under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the police services of foreign states and thanks to the active assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mariyan Ivanov, who had been on federal and international wanted lists since 2000, was detained by the law enforcement authorities of France and was extradited to the Russian Federation in order to institute criminal proceedings against him for the commission of the criminal act.

The Russian citizen, extradited by the competent authorities of France, was convicted of robbery
