Today, upon request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of Germany extradite Russian citizen Georgy Bredikhin to Russia.
The investigative authorities charged him with the commission of crimes defined by Article 158, part 2, paras. “a”, “c”, “d” (theft) and Article 166, part 4 (unlawful occupancy of a car) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The criminal case against G.Bredikhin is under investigation by the Industrial District Court of the city of Kursk.
The investigative authorities discovered that in March 2001, G.Bredikhin and his accomplice broke into an apartment in Kursk and stole property in the amount of more than RUB 5 000. A week later, they beat up a driver of VAZ-2104 and occupied his vehicle.
G.Bredikhin fled the prosecution. In December 2003, his accomplice was sentenced to 6.5 years of imprisonment to be served in a correctional colony of high security.
In August 2001, the Industrial District Court of Kursk place G.Bredikhin on federal wanted list and in January 2008 - on international wanted list. In February 2008, G.Bredikhin was found in one of the prisons of Germany where he served his sentence.
In April 2008, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation submitted a relevant request for extradition of G.Bredikhin to the Federal Ministry of Justice of the Federal Republic of Germany, which was satisfied in April 2009.
Moreover, upon request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of Austria extradite today Russian citizen Artur Asatryan to Russia.
It was established that in March 2001, A.Asatryan who worked as a salesperson at one of the stores in Samara, stole money in the amount of RUB 50 000 and fled. In 2001, the Court of the city of Samara sentenced him to 3 years on probation.
According to the court decision, A.Asatryan had to be kept under supervision and was not authorized to relocate without permission. However, A.Asatryan failed to fulfill the requirements assigned by the court and escaped. In this regard, the probation was replaced with a sentence to be served in a colony and he was put on federal wanted list. In August 2007, A.Asatryan was put on international wanted list and in April 2009, he was detained on the territory of Austria.
Today, both G.Bredikihn and A.Asatryan have been extradited to Russia under the escort of the Russian Interpol Bureau and the Federal Penitentiary Service officers.
