Deputy Attorney General of the Russian Federation Viktor Grin confirmed the indictment and forwarded to court for consideration a criminal case against a banker Alexei Frenkel and his accomplices. They are charged with assassination of Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Russian Federation Andrei Kozlov.
According to the investigation, 'Alexei Frenkel organized murder of Andrey Kozlov, and engaged actual doers and accomplices. He was arrested on January 11, 2007 and January 15, a preventive measure in the form of detention was selected. Alexei Frenkel charged under paragraphs 3 cl. 33 'b', 'f', 'h' paragraph.2 cl.105 of the Russian Criminal Code (organization of assassination in connection with the vicitm’s service for remuneration by an organized criminal group).
As a reminder: the Central Bank of Russia’s First Deputy Chairman Andrei Kozlov and his driver were killed by the evening oon September 13, 2006 in Moscow. In October 2006, pursuant to this criminal case the actual doers were detained, and in November and December 2006 - the mediators. Seven people were arrested as part pf this case. Another crime participant fled from justice and is wanted by the international police.
