The Zaporozhye Regional Court has issued a sentence in a criminal case against Tokmak District resident Nikolai Jos.
He was found guilty under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage), paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sabotage), Part 2 of Article 281.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in a sabotage community).
It was established that Jos, being a member of a community whose goals were espionage and sabotage, received an assignment from an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to collect and transmit information about the locations of personnel, defensive military structures and armored vehicles of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the territory of the Zaporozhye Region.
To do this, while in the Tokmak District, he transmitted the coordinates of the deployment of Russian military personnel involved in the defense of the anti-aircraft missile installation, which he sent to his supervisor along with the geolocation data.
On the same day, May 17, 2023, a missile and bomb attack was carried out on the positions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as a result of which three Russian servicemen were killed and an anti-aircraft missile installation was destroyed.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced Jos to life imprisonment, with the first five years to be served in prison and the rest in a special regime penal colony.
