A seminar was held in the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation with the representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Supreme Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania to exchange experience in the area of protection the rights and legitimate interests of man and citizen. The event was held within the framework of the Program of Cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Supreme Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania.
The Russian party at the seminar was represented by the Head of Department for Supervision over Observance of Human Rights and Freedoms of the General Department for Supervision over Compliance with the Federal Legislation Larisa Kopteva, the Head of the Juvenile and Youth Division Marina Zaitseva, Head of the Division for Supervision over Observance of the Rights of Entrepreneurs Vladimir Chernyshev, and the representative of the Academy of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
The Romanian party was represented by the prosecutor of the Department of International Judicial Cooperation, Foreign Relations and Programs of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Supreme Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania Nikoleta Stefanof, the prosecutor and the Head of the Office of the Judicial Branch of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Supreme Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania Archer Liviu Daniel, the prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Supreme Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania Kristiana Daniela Dobresku, the prosecutor and Head of Anti-Cybercrime Unit of the Directorate for Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigations Badya Viorel.
The participants discussed the issues related to the powers, functions and tasks of the prosecution bodies of both countries, including in law-making activity, in implementation of supervision in the area of protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the citizens. Special attention was paid to the protection of the rights of children and entrepreneurs by means of the prosecutorial supervision.
The parties stressed that the meeting would contribute to the improvement of the practice of prosecutorial supervision in both countries, and the development of cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Supreme Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania.
