Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation held a Russian-Belarusian round table

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus continue to implement the Joint Action Plan for 2015.

In accordance with the approved program, the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus held a round table in Moscow “Sharing experience in the implementation of prosecutorial supervision over execution of legislation in the area of environmental protection and nature management”.

The meeting was chaired by the Acting Head of Department for Supervision over Compliance with Legislation on Protection of the Interests of Society and the State Alexander Rusetsky. The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Head of Division for Supervision over Compliance with the Environmental and Land Legislation of the Department for Supervision over Execution of Legislation and Legality of Legal Acts Dmitry Vasilevich. In addition, the event was attended by the representatives of several structural subdivisions of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus.

All round table participants made reports in accordance with the scheduled programme. There was a discussion and exchange of opinions on existing issues of application of laws and supervising activities of the prosecution authorities.

Mutual interest was aroused by the issues of prosecutorial supervision over the implementation of the forest law, water law, animal and vegetable welfare legislation, protection of mineral resources, waste production and atmospheric air.

The next meeting of the representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Offices of the two countries under the Joint Action Plan is scheduled to be held this November in Moscow. During the meeting, there will be a discussion on topical issues of organization and implementation of prosecutorial supervision in the area of countering illegal turnover of narcotic, psychotropic and strong means, as well as smoking blends.
