Today, May 27, 2015, upon the request of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Russian Federation, a meeting was held at the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation between the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Nikolay Vinnichenko and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Russian Federation, Boyko Kotsev.
The meeting was attended by heads of the structural divisions of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
The Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation noted that the way to increase the effectiveness of joint efforts aimed at combatting international crime is to strengthen mutual cooperation, including through the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Mr Vinnichenko stated that the contacts established during the meetings create strong prerequisites for reaching a new level of cooperation between law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime.
In addition, the participants of the meeting discussed urgent issues of countering religious extremism and the actions of terrorist organizations such as The Islamic State, The Caucasus Emirate and Al-Qaeda.
Boyko Kotsev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Russian Federation, also called for closer contacts and visits of both parties to provide practical support to one another.
