The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka has signed a Programme of Cooperation between the General Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Armenia for the years of 2012 - 2013

In the framework of the official visit of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka to the Republic of Armenia in the city of Yerevan he had a meeting with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan.

 

In his speech of welcome, Yury Chayka thanked the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia for a long-term close partners’ interactions and for the stable positive dynamics of interdepartmental cooperation. The outcome of development of Russian-Armenian relations have already become an Agreement of cooperation, the Memorandum on its main directions, there were implemented two programs of cooperation. Also, the General Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Armenia are actively working in the Coordinating Council of General Prosecutors of the CIS member states, in the bodies of the Council of Europe and other international organizations.

 

 

Yury Chayka has especially emphasized that without personal involvement and support of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia such results of fruitful interdepartmental work would not have been achieved.

 

Emphasizing this, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev presented Aghvan Hovsepian with the medal of Honor for contribution to development of the Russian-Armenian cooperation in the sphere of strengthening of legislation and law-and-order.

 

Also during the meeting it was signed a Program of cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the General Prosecutor's office of the Republic of Armenia for the years of 2012 and 2013.

 

It is scheduled by the programme so-called «round tables», seminars and meetings of experts on the issues of interaction of organs of the Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Armenia. So, in August of this year in the city of Moscow the sides will discuss problems and the practice of counteraction to the use of Internet in extremist and terrorist purposes, and in October in the city of Yerevan they will discuss the issues of training and documentary maintenance of the organs of the Prosecutor's offices of the two countries, assemblies of boards, coordination and operational meetings as well as the procedures of control over execution of adopted decisions.

 

The programme provides for carrying out in April 2013 in the city of Moscow a meeting of public prosecutors of Russia and Armenia for exchanging experiences in struggling against criminality of corruption nature, discussion of practices, results and efficiency of its forms as well as for exchanging experiences in functioning of the career departments of the prosecutor's offices in prevention of corruption and other law offences. In September 2013 in the city of Yerevan it will be held a seminar on the theme «The modern forms and methods of international cooperation in provision of legal assistance in criminal cases, interaction of the bodies of the prosecutor's offices of Russia and Armenia in the sphere of extradition and in rendering legal assistance in criminal matters».

 

Yury Chayka and Aghvan Hovsepyan expressed their confidences in continuation of fruitful cooperation on the main directions of activities between the General Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Armenia.
