About the eighth meeting of the General prosecutors of the member States of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO)

Today in the city of Xiamen of Fujian province of People's Republic of China it was held the eighth meeting of the general prosecutors of the member states of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO).

 

The meeting was attended by the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka, the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami, the General Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China Cao Jianming, acting as the General Prosecutor of the Kyrgyz Republic Baibolov K.K., the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Tajikistan Salimzoda Sh.О., the deputy General Prosecutor of the Republic of Uzbekistan Uzakov Sh. Sh., the representatives of General Prosecutor's offices of the SCO observer States like Mongolia, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as representatives of the General Prosecutor's office of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

 

The sides discussed the issues of strengthening practical cooperation, improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the struggle against terrorism, separatism and extremism, the fight against transnational economic criminality and protection of the rights of citizens in the conditions of the world financial crisis.

 

In the course of the session its participants came to a conclusion on necessity of use of all powers granted to the prosecutor's offices of the SCO member States for strengthening of the fight against illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, human trafficking, illegal migration and other types of criminality in the region, including through the exchange of information on ongoing investigations, extraditions of persons for bringing to criminal responsibility and/or the execution of a sentence as well as the return of the properties acquired by a criminal way.

 

At the end of the session, based on the provisions of the Charter of the Shanghai cooperation organization, the Shanghai Convention on struggling against terrorism, separatism and extremism, and other international agreements the participants of which are the SCO member States, it was signed the final Protocol.
