Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov met with Attorney General of the Kingdom of Thailand Naree Tantasathien

After the meeting of the Prosecutor General of Russia and the Attorney General of Thailand in Bangkok in March this year, a delegation headed by the Attorney General of the Kingdom of Thailand Naree Tantasathien arrived in Moscow on a return visit.

In the course of the meeting in Moscow, the heads of the supervisory agencies discussed the productive interagency cooperation, exchanged views on topical issues of combatting crime, including interaction in the area of legal assistance and extradition.

He noted that the supervisory agencies of the two countries have warm relations, based not only on professional ties, common approaches to solving tasks, but also on mutual trust and respect.

"Russia and Thailand face similar challenges, so it is especially important to jointly confront new security threats and regularly exchange best practices in supervisory activities," the Russian Prosecutor General said.

The head of the Russian supervisory agency expressed confidence that carrying out the activities provided for by the cooperation program signed in March will contribute to further strengthening contacts between prosecutors of the two countries in all areas of mutual interest.

Igor Krasnov said that the first event on combating illegal migration and human trafficking will take place in Russia this year.

During the meeting, as a further step towards the development of Russian-Thai cooperation, the Prosecutor General and the Attorney General updated the cooperation agreement that has been in effect between the agencies for more than 10 years. The new version of the agreement was signed taking into account modern realities. 

The Prosecutor General of Russia also noted the importance of developing ties in the scientific and educational spheres, and in this regard he proposed visiting the University of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and meeting with its rector, get acquainted with educational and research programs.

In conclusion, Igor Krasnov reiterated his firm commitment to the comprehensive development and strengthening of the professional dialogue between the prosecution services of Russia and Thailand. He thanked his foreign colleague for the open and constructive dialogue, wishing the members of the delegation of the Attorney General’s Office of the Kingdom of Thailand a productive time in Russia, professional success, well-being and all the best.
