As part of the program of international legal cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Attorney General’s Office of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a round table was held on combating environmental crime.
The relevance of the topic is dictated by the need for experience in solving environmental problems that are of key importance for creating favorable living conditions for citizens and preserving unique ecosystems.
Representatives of the supervisory agencies of the two countries discussed the powers of prosecutors, the best practices of prosecutorial activities in the field of environmental resources management.
In particular, interest was aroused by the implementation of supervisory powers in the sphere of conservation of specially protected natural areas and subsoil use.
Special attention was paid to the issues of detection, disclosure and investigation of environmental crimes.
