Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation delegation visited the Republic of Uzbekistan to hold educational events and participate in joint seminars on current issues of prosecutorial activities

The representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation visited Tashkent at the invitation of their Uzbekistani colleagues from May 2 to 5, 2023, where at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan they gave lectures to prosecutors of the Republic of Uzbekistan, lecturers and students of the Academy.

In particular, the members of the Russian delegation highlighted the main directions of international legal cooperation of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation in the conditions of modern challenges and threats. They touched upon the problems of combating IT-crimes, including those connected with misuse of cryptocurrency and other virtual assets. The prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation also gave lectures on a number of other issues of interest to their Uzbekistani colleagues.

In addition, in the framework of the program of cooperation between Prosecutor’s Offices for 2021-2023 and other agreements between the Heads of the Prosecutor’s Offices of Russia and Uzbekistan the Russian delegation took part in seminars on extradition and legal assistance, assets recovery from abroad, compliance with anti-corruption legislation in procurement, as well as  introduction of information technologies in the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office.

As a result of the exchange of views and information on best practices, the experts identified directions for further improving the effectiveness of interprosecutorial cooperation.

In this way, the parties identified concrete steps to develop electronic information exchange between the Prosecutor's Offices of Russia and Uzbekistan, including the use of a secure communication channel.

The Russian-Uzbekistani events took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere and the range of issues discussed demonstrated the common approach of the two Prosecutor's Offices to solving current problems of combating crime and protecting the rights of citizens.
