The delegation of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation headed by the chief of the Main Department of international legal cooperation Sahak Karapetyan officially visited the city of Jerusalem (the State Of Israel).
In the course of the visit there were held meetings of the Russian delegation with the Prosecutor General of Israel Moshe Lador as well as with the top management of the Department of International Affairs of the Ministry of justice of Israel Gal Levertov and of the international legal department of the Israeli Police Tamara Sharon.
In the course of negotiations the sides agreed about the conclusion of an interdepartmental agreement between the General Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Israel on cooperation, the draft of which was handed over to the Israeli side.
Moreover, on the proposal of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation it was established an interdepartmental Russian-Israeli working group for solving difficult issues which are of mutual interest for both of the countries.
The achieved results are opening the next stage in developing of relations and increasing of cooperation in the sphere of fighting against such dangerous crimes like organized crime, corruption, laundering of incomes obtained in a criminal way, drug trafficking and encroachment upon life and health of citizens, and also they are creating the conditions for protection interests of victims suffered from international criminality.
This is the first meeting at the highest level for the recent years in the course of which it has become possible not only to discuss topical questions on extradition and rendering of legal assistance in criminal matters between Russia and Israel but also to outline the ways of solving the problems arising in this sphere.
