In the General Prosecutor’s office of the Russian Federation on the initiative of the French side it took place a meeting of the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of French Republic in the Russian Federation Jean de Gliniasty. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Embassy of French Republic in the Russian Federation and the heads of subdivisions of the General Prosecutor’s office of Russia.
In the beginning of the meeting, Jean de Gliniasty on his own and on behalf of all employees of the Embassy expressed deep condolences in connection with the terrorist act in Moscow at the airport "Domodedovo".
In the course of the dialogue the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka highly appreciated the cooperation with the competent authorities of the French Republic. He noted that the signed in 2009 the Joint Declaration and the Program of cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of justice of the French Republic have been successfully implemented.
By the present time there were four working meetings of two agencies - the General Prosecutor's office of Russia and the Ministry of justice of France which were devoted to the discussion of actual issues of struggling against corruption, the implementation of justice in relation of juveniles as well as familiarization with the systems of professional training of public prosecutors in Russia and in France. Yury Chayka stated that holding such events provides opportunities to exchange experiences in solution of such kinds of problems with which the prosecutors face in their every day works, which undoubtedly have a positive reflection on the efficiency of interdepartmental interaction in the sphere of protection of citizens’ rights, struggling against criminality and strengthening of legislation.
Such interaction, noted the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation, is especially important in the light of carried out judicial and legal reforms in both states, which affect the bodies of the Prosecutor's office as well.
At present time the delegation of the Russian prosecutors is in Paris with the aim of studying of the peculiarities of organization and activities of the specialized courts on consideration of criminal cases related to organized criminality. Moreover, to the beginning of March 2011 in Moscow it was scheduled the first joint training of the representatives of the prosecutor's offices of Russia and France with the purpose of deeper acquaintance with the authorities implementing criminal prosecution and their powers.
In the end of the meeting the parties expressed the readiness for continuation of constructive cooperation and expressed targeting on all-round deepening and development of Russian-French relations including the relations among law-and-order bodies of Russia and France.
The participants of the meeting also noted that the carried out meeting would contribute to improvement of efficiency of professional links and development of the dialogue on a wide range of legal issues.
