The General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka in the course of a working visit in the city of Doha, the State of Qatar, met with the General Prosecutor of the State of Qatar Ali Bin Fetais al Marri.
In the course of the meeting in order to implement the Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the State Prosecutor's office of the State of Qatar on March 23rd of 2010 the heads of departments signed the Program of cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the State Prosecutor's office of the State of Qatar for the years of 2011 and 2012.
The program provides for the holding of joint events, including round tables and seminars on the widest range of issues.
Thus, in 2011 it will be held "round tables" on the topic "Combating illegal activities of international extremist organizations" and "the Structure and tasks of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the office of the Public Prosecutor of the State of Qatar. The rights and duties of public prosecutors of two States". In 2012 it is planned to carry out a workshop on the theme of "Participation of the Prosecutor in criminal proceedings".
Moreover, the Program envisages the exchange of departmental and scientific publications, methodological materials on the basic directions of activities including the materials of judicial practice.
Yury Chayka noted that holding of joint activities foreseen by the mentioned Program, will contribute to improvement of effectiveness of interdepartmental cooperation in the field of protection of the rights and freedoms of a human being and a citizen as well as in the sphere of struggling against the criminality.
In addition, as it was noted by the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation, the bodies of Prosecutor's office of Russia and Qatar maintain contacts not only in a bilateral format but also in the framework of various international organizations, particularly in the International Association of prosecutors.
The participants of the meeting also noted that the carried out meeting would contribute to increasing of efficiency of professional links and development of the dialogue on a wide range of legal issues.
