It was signed a program of cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China

The General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka arrived with a working visit at the city of Xiamen of the People's Republic Of China.

 

Today in the course of the visit he met with the General Prosecutor of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China Cao Jianming. In the course of the meeting the heads of the agencies signed a Program of cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China for the years of 2011 - 2012.

 

The program provides for the holding of joint events including seminars and round tables on the widest range of issues.

 

Thus, in 2011 it will take place the "round table" on the theme of "Coordination activities of the Prosecutor's office in the fight against transnational organized criminality, the illicit trafficking of weapons, narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, the crimes of terrorist and corruption nature".

 

Moreover, the program provides for the exchange of departmental and scientific publications as well as the materials of judicial practice on the main directions of activities.

 

Yury Chayka noted that one of the important components of the partnership of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China is the cooperation of law-and-order bodies of Russia and China in the struggling against terrorism, extremism, human trafficking, illegal migration and other criminal manifestations.

 

In addition, as it was noted by the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation, the development of bilateral relations in this area meets the interests of our States and promotes a comprehensive strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between Russia and China, the development of fruitful cooperation in the legal sphere for the benefit of our States, provision of stability and security in Asia.

 

The participants of the meeting also noted that the meeting would contribute to more efficient professional ties and development of the dialogue on a wide range of legal issues.
