The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation hosted a working meeting between Mr. Alexander Buksman, the First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, and representatives of International Stolen Asset Return (StAR) Initiative — Mr. Dimitri Vlassis, Head of the Division, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and Mr. Adrian Fozzard, Director of the Secretariat of the World Bank.
The event was held within the framework of the execution by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation of the instructions, stipulated by the National Plan on combating corruption for 2010-2011 with participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
The possible forms of cooperation of the competent authorities of the Russian Federation with the StAR Initiative, the prospects of establishing cooperation, the conditions of joint work were discussed at the meeting.
Foreign partners organized a detailed presentation of the Initiative, its partners in the biggest world financial centers, the countries of Europe, Asia, North and Latin America. The Parties agreed that it was necessary to further strengthen working contacts and mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of organization of return of the assets, received from corruption activities to the countries of origin. The meeting was held in the atmosphere of business-like mutual understanding.
