This is Alexander Gutsan's first working visit to the regions in his capacity as Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. The head of the supervisory body arrived in Volgograd region to personally communicate with local residents and business community representatives for targeted solutions to accumulated problems.
Russia's Prosecutor General began his trip by visiting the historical and memorial complex dedicated "To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad" on Mamayev Kurgan. Alexander Gutsan laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame in the Hall of Military Glory and flowers at the grave of Marshal Vasily Chuikov, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, honoring the memory of those who fell in the battle that marked the turning point in the Great Patriotic War.
At Alexander Gutsan's instruction, ahead of the events with his personal participation, representatives of Russia's Prosecutor General's Office arrived in Volgograd region and organized a reception for citizens. Over 250 appeals have already been received. The opportunity to discuss pressing issues will remain including after the personal reception by the head of the supervisory body.
Following the working visit, Russia's Prosecutor General will also hold a meeting with the staff of the Volgograd Regional Prosecutor's Office.
