Today, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the claim of Russia's Prosecutor General to recognize the Polish unregistered organization Kongres Deputowanych Ludowych ("Congress of People's Deputies") as terrorist and to prohibit its activities.
In 2023, it was declared undesirable in Russian territory.
Positioning itself as a "new government of Russia in exile," the organization aims for the violent seizure of power in the Russian Federation.
The Congress regularly holds so-called sessions where anti-constitutional documents are adopted.
In relation to the organization's leaders and activists, acting on its behalf and in its interests, Russian courts have issued and enforced guilty verdicts in criminal cases on crimes of a terrorist nature.
