Montenegro Extradites Multimillion Fraud Suspect to Russia, Following Request

At the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, the competent authorities of Montenegro are extraditing Gasham Tanryverdiev for him to face criminal charges under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).

According to the investigation, between February and September 2023, Tanryverdiev, together with accomplices, entered into contracts with a leasing company for the purchase of tractors and dump trucks. Subsequently, the lessor terminated the contracts due to non-payment, but the vehicles were not returned. As a result, the financial organization suffered damage exceeding 850 million rubles.

Tanryverdiev fled from law enforcement agencies, however at the direction of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, he was placed on an international wanted list.

The request for the extradition of the accused was sent in connection with his detention on the territory of Montenegro.

Thanks to the actions of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, it was possible to achieve a positive decision on the subject’s extradition.

Accompanied by officers of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service and the Interpol National Central Bureau of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, he will be delivered via transit through Turkey to Moscow.
