From 20 to 23 January 2026, a delegation of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation paid a working visit to the People's Republic of China. During the visit, meetings were held with Chinese colleagues dedicated to current issues of bilateral cooperation and combating crime.
Particular attention was paid to discussing the experience of using modern information technologies in practice. Employees of the Russian Prosecutor's Office presented to their Chinese colleagues information on data processing systems used in domestic practice and achievements in the field of artificial intelligence.
In order to practically implement the cooperation agreement signed on 7 November 2023 between certain regional prosecutor's offices of Russia and China, meetings were held between Moscow Chief Prosecutor Maksim Zhuk and Beijing Chief Prosecutor Zhu Yapin, as well as between St. Petersburg Chief Prosecutor Viktor Melnik and Shanghai Chief Prosecutor Chen Yong.
Chinese colleagues introduced the Russian delegation to the specifics of the activities of the Chaoyang District Prosecutor's Office in Beijing and of the recently established "Comprehensive Financial Prosecution Base" in Shanghai. It is designed for comprehensive and penetrating financial supervision, as well as for preventing risks and crimes in the field of financial security.
