On the instructions of Mr. Aleksandr Gutsan, a working meeting was held at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation with representatives of the General Prosecution of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event focused on combating crimes committed using information and communication technologies, specifics of using electronic evidence, and the introduction of artificial intelligence in prosecutorial work.
During the meeting, the most pressing issues of enhancing cybersecurity levels, developing unified standards for the use of electronic evidence, and building an effective system of digital control over offenses were discussed.
The meeting highlighted the similar positions of Russia and Saudi Arabia on this matter, one confirmation of which was the signing in November 2025 in Hanoi of the UN Convention against Cybercrime, developed on the initiative of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office with the coordinating role of the Russian Foreign Ministry. On the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin, our country was represented at that event by Prosecutor General of Russia Mr. Aleksandr Gutsan.
Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring lawfulness and public order. Representatives of the Russian supervisory authority exchanged their developments in this area with their foreign colleagues.
Concluding the event, the participants agreed on the need to continue close interaction to develop joint measures to counter modern cyber threats.
