Upon request of the Russian side, Georgia extradited a person accused of committing a very serious crime

At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of Georgia extradited Nikita Podstavkin to make him criminally liable under Article 111 part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grave harm on health, which caused the death of the victim by negligence).

According to the investigation, on June 25, 2024, Podstavkin, together with his accomplices, beat the victim, inflicting grave harm on his health. As a result, the man died in the intensive care unit.

The accused fled from the law enforcement authorities and under the instructions of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia he was put on the international wanted list.

The request for extradition of Podstavkin was sent to due to his detention in the territory of Georgia.

Due to the actions of the Russian supervisory agency, a positive decision on extradition was achieved.
